Being an 11th Century castle the hotel does face some challenges with accessibility. There are steps into the hotel, however we do have an outdoor platform lift which we can assist with to bring guests into the hotel.

Unfortunately we don’t have a swimming pool or gym at the hotel, we do have a spa where you can book a range of treatments ahead of your stay.

The hotel is located just off the A64 which is a dual carriageway with a bus stop, you would then walk down our drive to the hotel (just over a mile).

Wedding

Yes, 65 on a Friday and Sunday, 80 on a Saturday.  Midweek Monday to Thursday is flexible.

There is always some flexibility but how much will depend on the month.

Six weeks before the wedding.

Yes, the wedding co-ordinators can do that for you, you can hold a date for two weeks before we ask for the deposit if you’d like to go ahead.

Castle wedding – Usually £1,750.00 unless it’s the platinum package then it’s £2,000.00 (plus an additional £500.00 if taking exclusive hire- any package).

Woodland Wedding - £2,500.00.

The room hire for the wedding breakfast and evening reception is included in the package.

The civil ceremony room hire is an additional cost – GH - £600 / ODR £300 / SDR £250 / VIC £150.00 / PAGODA £600.00

£110.00 per person.

Platinum/Gold package £17.50  / Silver £15.00 / Bronze, midweek, winter £10.00.

There could potentially be another wedding in the Woodland / Castle but they are run entirely separately so won’t interfere with your day.  If you book the Castle there wouldn’t be another wedding in the Castle on the same day (same for the Woods!).

You could take exclusive hire (see Exclusive Hire section) If that seems out of their budget you can mention that everything’s negotiable and to speak to MH/KB about it!

Normal capacities, (not with social distancing)...

Civil ceremony -    GH 160   / ODR 90  / SDR 40  / Vic 25

Wedding Breakfast – GH 120 with a long top table or 130 with all round tables.  40 on an oval.

ODR 50 (5 tables of 10) or 30 on an oval (diagonally)

SDR 30 (3 tables of 10) or 18 on an oval

Then we can accommodate this in a marquee.  There are marquee packaged in the brochure which include a supplement for the marquee hire.

Potentially up to 800.  Alternatively a marquee can be built on the ground at the side of the restaurant for 200.

If the catering is specialist, eg Asian, Kosher etc.  Then the wedding packages won’t apply and we charge a venue hire fee of £5,000.00 + the marquee hire (Probably best not to quote and to refer to MH/KB).

We always try to be as flexible as possible, elements can be added to suit such as free flow drinks, chair cover, canapes etc where they’re not included in the package

We can book one for you with our preferred supplier Audio Events although you can source your own if you prefer.

Exclusive hire means that we basically close the Castle to any other guests who are not attending your wedding so that you can have the Castle entirely to yourselves.  If you don’t have exclusive hire other quests would be able to come to the Spa, for coffee, lunch, afternoon tea etc and that there could be another wedding in the Woodland or Castle.  There would only be one wedding in the Castle and one wedding in the Woodland venue.  Each are run entirely separately so wouldn’t interfere with each other in any way if exclusive hire isn’t taken.

It runs from 11am on the day of the wedding to 11am the following day.

Either £9,995.00 including all 32 bedrooms or £5,000.00 with guests paying Hazlewood Castle directly for their bedrooms.  (All 32 bedrooms must be booked with the second option).
